Is there a lactation area at the start, and can my lactation equipment be transported to the finish?
Yes. Please visit the medical tent at the Pre-Start Staging Lot (see map here) to use a lactation area and to have your lactation equipment transported to the lactation tent adjacent to the medical tent at the Post-Finish Area.

What can I bring to the start?
All runners will pass through security, including a metal detector, to enter the start corrals. No bags will be allowed through security. If you bring additional layers of clothing, you must be wearing them. You will need to show your race bib to gain entry. Weapons of any kind, flammable liquids, fireworks, toxic chemicals, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, blankets, or any other item that security deems dangerous are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated.
If I wear additional layers of clothing to stay warm while waiting at the start, can I leave some clothing in my corral once my wave starts?
Yes. There will be clothing collection bins along the corrals in the start area.
Are you offering bag check at the start?
No. Bags much be checked at the expo. Bags checked at the Expo will be available at the Post Finish Festival.
Can I pick up my bib and t-shirt at the start?
No. If you need a bib, you must go to the expo.
When should runners arrive at the start?
Runners arrive at different times depending on which wave they will start in. There will be four (4) waves. Please see the website for more information.

How will I know if there is a safety issue on course?
The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon will be using the event flag system to communicate any changes in event safety status. Check out the details here.
Will there be water and other amenities along the course?
There are 8 stations with water and nuun and port-a – potties
What is the course time limit?
The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon finish line will close at 12:30 PM (which is a 4:00 pace for runners starting in Wave 4). Runners who do not cross the finish line prior to 12:30 PM will not be recorded as official finishers and may not receive full on-course support from aid stations and traffic safety personnel or receive a finisher medal. Roadways outside of Prospect Park will re-open to traffic in a rolling fashion. A sweep vehicle will follow behind the last runners in the race and will provide transportation to the finish for participants who are unable to maintain the required pace. Runners who wish to continue running after the sweep vehicle passes them and the streets begin to open will be directed to the sidewalks.
Will there be pacer groups on the course?
Yes. The Prospect Park Track Club will be providing pace teams for runners looking to run a pace of 1:30 to 3:30. Just look for the pacer signs in your start wave identifying the pace time you’re looking to run.
Can I run with headphones?
Earpieces and headphones are permitted for use on the course; however, we recommend runners use those devices with care. Participants must be always alert to their surroundings and will need to hear important announcements made at the start, on the course, and at the finish.
Can I run with my GPS watch device?
Yes
Can I run with a backpack, hydration vest, fuel belt, or other water container?
All backpacks and over-the-shoulder hydration vests are strictly prohibited, and runners will not be able to enter the start area with them. Runners will be permitted to enter the start area and run with hydration/fuel belts and handheld water bottles of one (1) liter or less.
Where is the finish line located?
The 2024 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon finish line is located on Center Drive in Prospect Park. Check out the map of the finish area here.
Where should my friends and family meet me after the race?
Due to security and space constraints, finish line access is restricted to those holding finish line passes only. There will be no direct access to the finish line. Finish line passes may be purchased here.
We suggest athletes reunite with family and friends outside of Prospect Park. However, there will be a family reunion area adjacent to the post-race festival in the Nethermead (a short distance from the finish). For those coming to the Nethermead, please do not bring bags to this area as they will be subject to search and refusal. No weapons or any kind, flammable liquids, fuels, fireworks, toxic chemicals, explosives, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, blankets, or any other item that security deems dangerous to participants, spectators, staff, or volunteers are allowed.
