Course

The one-of-a-kind, 13.1-mile course starts in hip North Brooklyn and winds around the East River waterfront, taking you under the historic Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges while delivering eye popping views of Manhattan. The route then heads through downtown Brooklyn, up the historic concourses of Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue before passing through Grand Army Plaza and ending in Prospect Park with a celebratory finish.

ELEVATION PROFILE CHART

USATF CERTIFICATION

Timing

The USATF-certified course will be electronically timed using the MYLAPS BibTag system. There will be timing (split) points at the 5K, 10K, halfway, 15K and 20K marks.

Hydration Stations

There will be eight (8) hydration stations featuring Thirst Quencher Lemon-Lime Gatorade in green cups followed by water in white cups approximately every 1.5 miles along the course.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms will be located adjacent to all Hydration Stations.

Medical Support

Our medical team will be positioned at six (6) Medical Stations along the course as well as on bikes throughout the course. If you’re in need of medical assistance, stop at a Medical Station, ask the nearest race staff member for help, or call the Race Day Emergency Phone Number (which will also be on the front of your bib) at 646-290-5353.

Course Condition Flags

We’ll be using the Event Alert System (EAS) which features colored flags that communicate course conditions (Green, Yellow, Red, Black). Keep an eye on the flags along the course to stay aware of any changes that might occur during the race. See here for more details.

Halfway Halftime Show

Fortunately or unfortunately, this is exactly what the title sounds like. Near the halfway point of the race (at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues), our partner Oatly has drummed up a Halftime Show of unhinged entertainment fanfare to celebrate every runner’s race progress and Oatly’s lower climate impact message, as well as to cheer runners on through the race’s 2nd half.

Time Limit

Due to street re-openings, the race has a time limit. The Finish Line will close at 12:30 PM (which is an 18:00/mile pace for runners starting in Wave 4). You’ll need to cross the Finish Line prior to 12:30 PM to be officially timed and scored and to receive your Finisher’s Medal. If you fall off the 12:30 PM finish pace, we may not be able to provide event support.

We’ll follow behind the final runners in the race with a vehicle that will provide transportation to the finish for participants who are unable to maintain the required pace (and wish to get a ride to the Post-Finish Area). Runners who wish to continue running at their slower pace will be directed to the sidewalks with no event support so the streets can be opened.
