As per NYCRUNS policy and for the safety of all runners, only you can run with the bib that's assigned to you. Bib transfers are strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
On race morning, you’ll go to the Start Area Entrance at North 12th St. and Bedford Ave. on the border of McCarren Park in Williamsburg. Visit the START section for more details.
Each Wave Start has a specific arrival time window that runners must adhere to. Check your NYCRUNS Dashboard under Upcoming Races for your Wave assignment and visit the START section for more details on your arrival time.
Yes. Registered Handcycle and Wheelchair athletes will be contacted directly prior to the race regarding arrival details for the Start Area and other important information.
If you’re not receiving them in the mail, you’ll pick up your bib and official race swag (shirt) prior to race day at the pre-race Expo. Visit the EXPO section for more details.
Unfortunately, Run with Friends registration is closed. Once all the waves and corral assignments have been made, the Run With Friends groups are locked in. Run With Friends allows groups of 2-10 runners to start together in the same wave and corral.
You can remove yourself from a Run with Friends group (or disband a group if you set one up), by going to the Upcoming Races section on your NYCRUNS Dashboard. Please not that the group members will still all be assigned to the same wave and corral.
No bags, backpacks, selfie sticks, flag poles, portable speakers, or weighted vests will be allowed through security. Weapons of any kind, flammable liquids, fireworks, toxic chemicals, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or any other items that are deemed hazardous or dangerous to runners, spectators, or event staff are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated.
You can run with a hydration vest and/or fuel belt with water containers of 1 liter or less. Hydration vests can only be used with water stored in the front pockets/holders and not with a rear bladder.
Earpieces and headphones are permitted; however, we recommend you use those devices with care. You must be always alert to your surroundings and will need to hear important announcements made at the start, on the course, and at the finish. Please familiarize yourself with our complete Rules of Competition.
If you want to run in a costume, please adhere to our rules which limit athletes to form fitting outfits only. Masks and other face coverings are prohibited, as are bulky costumes, capes, and handheld props. Please familiarize yourself with our complete Rules of Competition.

You’ll receive an email in the days after the race from MarathonFoto with details on how to claim your complimentary Finish Line photo and other options. You can also pre-order a photo package when you register, or if you've already registered in the Upcoming Races section of your NYCRUNS Dashboard.
Yes. You can download the free NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon to your Apple or Google phone or follow along online via our runner tracking website. Follow this link to set up runner tracking.
The event app is not linked to your NYCRUNS account, so you must create a separate account on the app to receive important notifications. After downloading the app, take a moment to set up your account (if you haven't already done so for a previous NYCRUNS race). This lets you claim your profile, manage privacy settings, and make sure you get important event updates.
Information about street closures will be available closer to race day in the COMMUNITY IMPACT section.
To ensure you’re getting all the information you need, keep your eyes out for update emails from NYCRUNS and periodically check this website, follow us on social @brooklynexperiencehalf, and download our free App.
Official race merch is available at the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon Online Store and at the pre-race Expo (while supplies last).
